Paper Decorating

$30.00

Take home 20 pieces of paper that are as unique as you. In class, you will be given all materials and access to machines to take plain paper to the next level of “wow”. You will be rewarded with a stack of paper to take home for greeting cards, journals. Artist Trading Cards (ATC), or multi-media projects. Students will be able to try each technique up to five times to improve your skill level .

This class serves as a “try before you buy” exercise and is great for anyone just starting to do crafts- but not sure what to buy first. Or it is a chance to craft together with friends.   Each paper making station will have samples and instructions that you can take home. An Amazon list will be on hand for quick shopping (if requested). As there are limits on space and machines, this class is for only 8 people. A waitlist will be formed if you want a special class for your group. Just ask!

Techniques in class:

 1. Splattering medium cardstock with distress oxide inks. As an option, You can ink up a floral stamp to print on top. The result is a matte and velvety print.

 2. Adding heat foil to light cardstock for amazing shine. This requires special equipment. Then you can try alcohol ink markers for accents.

 3. Adding spots of liquid alcohol ink to yupo paper (and alternatives) to make ethereal bubbles or clouds . We’ll even try out a “remove” technique to take away some ink and leave behind a pattern.

 4. Using embossing folders to smash some smooth lighter paper into 3D paper. You’ll also get a piece of vellum to try as well. Students can experiment with water based inks on the actual folders to accent the raised details of the folders
