Meet Our Artists!

Inviting you to the fun.

Think you’re not “artistic”? Not sure where to start with a craft you’ve always wanted to try? Or maybe you love creating but don’t want to invest in all the supplies for something you’re unsure about or don’t have time to pursue regularly.

Come explore, experiment, and create in our new classes—no experience (or commitment) needed!

Kaylee S.

Kaylee is an artist and small business owner who has been crafting for as long as she can remember. Growing up, she spent countless hours alongside her grandmother in her art studio, an experience that sparked a lifelong passion for creating. Ever curious and eager to grow, Kaylee is always exploring new techniques and mediums.

Since 2020, she has been selling her work, experimenting across a wide range of crafts including ceramics, metal smithing, painting, and candle making. Her creative journey is driven by a love of learning and a desire to bring unique, handmade pieces to life.

Outside of her creative work, Kaylee enjoys hiking, mountain biking, knitting, and getting lost in a good book. She brings that same sense of adventure and curiosity into everything she creates.

Katelyn

Katelyn is an artist and educator inspired by nature, humor, and the importance of mental well‑being. She has been teaching since 2008, guiding students of all ages. From curious kindergarteners to creative adults through a wide range of mediums including clay, paint, plaster, yoga, papier-mâché, and more. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education and Art Studio with an emphasis in ceramics.

Her teaching philosophy centers on creating a supportive, playful environment where students feel free to explore the endless possibilities of making. With her wide knowledge base and naturally silly spirit, Katelyn encourages each person to embrace their creative soul and leave with a piece they’re proud of and one that sparks even more artistic curiosity.

Katelyn specializes in sculpting and printmaking whimsical critters, many of which can be found for purchase at Make Local Habit. Outside the studio, she enjoys hiking, birdwatching, adventuring with her dog and husband, and staying engaged with her community. Guided by her values and a commitment to joyful living, she looks forward to sharing the world of art with this creative community.
